I would say this is an early version. There was a belt worn by the band but with a different fastening and that was of a similar colour.

This is the ceremonial belt worn by the RAMC Staff Band and then the AMS Volunteer Band from 1984. It was worn on the bandsmen tunics until 2009. Some in the volunteer band did wear them as stable belts but I think this was something the BM turned a blind eye to
