BELT COLOURS - navy blue and old gold

OTHER INFORMATION

According to the Regiment's Historical Records 1968-1969, Colonel GTR approved the wearing of a Regimental indigo stable belt with effect from 24 March 1969. Prior to this date, the Regiment did not have its own stable belt. The stable belt was of the same design and colour as that worn by the Gurkha Signals, and was fastened by black leather straps and nickel plated buckles. There is no record of this being approved for wear by GTR by the Army Dress Committee.

At the 286th meeting of the Army Dress Committee held on 16 November 1993, it approved the new stable belt for the QOGTR, which was described as "Navy blue 2. 1/2 inches wide with 2 yellow 1/4 inch stripes 1/2 inch a part". The Regiment's Historical Records 1992 describe it as "blue with two old gold stripes".
