I was in the RNZAOC and Left the Army in 1985. When I joined the Army, it was before stable belts were issued, and I remember my original issue was the second half of the 1960’s. The RNZAOC adopted the RAOC belt with our own RNZAOC badge on a chromed buckle. The chrome was susceptible to scratching. However the buckle was so easy to clip on, whereas the other corps had to struggle with two buckles! And I have seen so many leather straps eventually worn and torn.
