BELT COLOURS - red, white and black

OTHER INFORMATION

The colours originally intended for The Corps of Officer Cadets’ corps belt were red and dark blue. This was rejected because of those colours close similarity to the corps colours of the Corps of Royal New Zealand Engineers and the Royal New Zealand Army Ordnance Corps. It was, after much discussion, finally decided that the colour red be combined with the colours black and white. Black and white have long been used to represent the unofficial colours of NewZealand and it was thought that the combination of red, white, black, white, and red would be appropriate for the corps belt.
