BELT COLOURS - blue and white

OTHER INFORMATION

The corps belt of The Corps of Royal New Zealand Military Police comprises the colours royal blue, white, royal blue. Before the introduction of this belt a lot of discussion took place about its colouring. Two options that were not approved were the colour red, which the Regular Force Cadet School wore at the time, and the colour blue, which the Special Air Service felt was too similar to its own. The placing of a white stripe in the centre of the blue solved the latter problem and the regimental belt of The Corps of Royal New Zealand Military Police was approved for introduction. The Corps badge is depicted on the belt buckle. British military police wear a plain red stable belt.
