"I originally purchased this belt back in 1966 at Howe Barracks Canterbury. It was the Home Counties Brigade then and that was the training camp. They were not issued but you had to have one. I did my 14 weeks training got a few awards and was then posted to Hollwood Barracks, Belfast, for two years. Then it was cap badge change, and the belt became redundant. The belt colours were always described as blood and sand."
