The RCAF belt is unusual in that it is leather and has zippered pockets. This excerpt is from a WWII RAF manual:

ORDERS OF DRESS, 0326. Belts. When trousers are worn with No 2 SD options, unless otherwise ordered, the approved pattern belts or blue/grey optional ‘money’ belts may be worn. The fastenings of the RAF stable belt are to be secured over the left hip. Money belts are not to be worn outside a jersey.
